A group of immoral citizens are caught up in an absurd and strange tragedy. The play explores good and evil, virtue and sin, exploitation and poverty. “The Good Soul” blends music, dance, physical movement, and improvisation. The music, composed by Wei Wu under the direction of Guang Tian Zhang—two leading figures in Chinese stage music—creates a surreal atmosphere of a mad dream. The songs performed by the actors amplify the irony and criticism. The play creates a mysterious and unsettling atmosphere with surrealist elements. “My Black Cat” explores the infinite possibilities of humanity in parallel universes. Since an object can move in three directions in space, it can have three different futures. Each path carries a truth within it.
