Premieres of “Moi, Elles”

The production then moved to Lyon for two performances at the Théâtre de la Croix-Rousse as part of the Festival Sens Interdit on October 14 and 15. © Julie Cheki In a nutshell, Moi, Elles is a play that explores mother-daughter relationships through the stories of women from different backgrounds—China, Mali, and Iran—all living in France. Three relationships, three generations, three stories, and three cultures. Across fifteen scenes, the stories of these six women intertwine and reflect off one another like a game of mirrors. It is these individual narratives that shape collective memory, cultural identities, and the history of our time. This production aims to tell the stories of individuals swept up in social change, particularly the stories of foreign women in France. Three actresses, one of whom is a dancer, embody six roles across fifteen scenes. Accompanied by a composer-musician on stage within a minimalist and symbolic set design, spoken words intertwine with body language in a haunting and sensory musical world.
