Rouge de Chine exhibition

The exhibition *Rouge de Chine*, which showcases the work of Thierry Robin and was organized in partnership with Editions Delcourt and Culture Chine France at the Alliances Françaises in China, has just opened in Beijing. The exhibition will then travel to Macau and Chongqing. A great opportunity to discover or rediscover Thierry Robin’s masterful work. In an imaginary China set shortly after the Opium Wars, a young European dignitary travels through a country gripped by popular revolt. Although introduced to local legends by his faithful demon servant Song, Henk seems to take little interest in his surroundings. One thing, however, manages to unsettle him: the gaze of Liu, the young Manchu woman glimpsed as if in a dream… In this fantasy saga, Thierry Robin depicts the journey of initiation of a young Westerner in China. He gradually immerses himself in the heart of the country, leading us to discover various aspects of traditional Chinese culture. As this connection deepens, the Chinese and Western worlds, paradoxically, drift apart, until only the relationship between Henk and Liu remains as the final link.
